Whether you’re coming from New York or Alaska, our staff will gladly help you with travel arrangements. Our United Recovery Project Florida Facilities are located in sunny South Florida. Out-of-state clients typically get to Hollywood by flying to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) or Miami International Airport (MIA). We’re also just a short drive from other large Florida cities – Orlando, Tampa, and Fort Myers.
Out of all places in the United States, Why South Florida? We strongly believe that South Florida’s picturesque scenery, warm climate, and spirited energy make it a phenomenal place for individuals to begin their recovery journey. There’s no doubt that many people feel down or unmotivated in the cold, overcast winter months. Here in Florida, the average high in January – the coldest month of the year – is 76°F! On the other hand, our warmest month (August) has an average high of 90°F. Many clients strongly prefer South Florida over rehab centers in the southwest, where summertime temperatures can exceed 110°F.
Best of all, South Florida has roughly 250 sunny days per year, much more than the U.S. average of 204. Exposure to sunlight triggers the release of serotonin, which may help improve your mental health. All things considered, we’re proud to call South Florida, FL home. We can’t wait to welcome you!
Now that you know more about South Florida, let’s take an inside look at our core facilities:
Detox Facility
We know that detox is a challenging step in the recovery process, and therefore, we strive to offer a comfortable and welcoming detox facility. Patients at our medical detox center are under 24/7 medical supervision. Our staff members go above and beyond to lessen withdrawal symptoms, using both medicinal and holistic remedies. In addition, every individual has access to healing one-on-one therapy and group therapy that helps them jumpstart the recovery process.
While many people associate the word “detox” with a negative experience, that isn’t the case at United Recovery Project! Our Florida detox facility has ping pong, a basketball court, and a wide variety of books and board games. Although patients share bedrooms, everyone gets a personal TV and Xbox. Patients also enjoy catered meals, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. There’s also ample outdoor covered seating space – the perfect spot for enjoying South Florida’s exceptional weather!
When you enter substance abuse detox, we know you must put a good chunk of your life on hold. Your case manager will work with you to take care of any job-related or legal matters while you begin the recovery process.
